October 7, 2019  |  WhirlyBall is now open! The two-story Brookfield Square restaurant and entertainment venue features two famed WhirlyBall courts, 8 bowling lanes with lane-side service, a 4 lane VIP Bowling Suite and a multi-level Laser Tag arena. In addition to activities, WhirlyBall also offers a full service restaurant and bar - The Pivot Room, private and semi-private event spaces and an outdoor patio and terrace.

May 23, 2019  |  Take a walk with us behind the scenes of the construction on the south end of Brookfield Square! The progress is moving rapidly now with grand opening aspirations for late summer, early fall. 

Just a General Manager and a Marketing Director having some fun on the job site - the sun and the warm weather helped!

First, let's take a peek behind-the-scenes at WhirlyBall! This is the west side of the building. There's a ton of construction activity inside and out.

Inside on main level - close your eyes and imagine the fun that will be had in this space! WhirlyBall, bowling, food, and drinks (to name a few).

This is over-the-top (literally)! Who loves a nice roof-top patio? We do, we do!

May I present our new mall concourse. The crews are installing the concrete flooring. The opening on the left side will allow customers to see what's happening inside WhirlyBall. There is an entrance to Movie Tavern on the right side.

Take a step into Movie Tavern by Marcus! We are so lucky to be able to see a movie theater at the beginning stages of construction. It is really cool to see the space taking shape!

These two spaces on the south end of the property will be the new home for Merle Norman Cosmetics and Orange Theory Fitness.

April 26, 2019  |  Outback Steakhouse breaks ground on the SE corner of Brookfield Square. The brand new restaurant plans to open this Fall.

April 1, 2019  |  Marcus announces bringing Movie Tavern to Brookfield Square, instead of BistroPlex! Movie Tavern will include eight auditoriums, each complete with Marcus’ mainstay amenity, DreamLounger reclining seats. One auditorium will feature a SuperScreenDLX screen, an “immersive” Dolby Atmos sound system and optional heated seating. Read the entire announcement here.

March 13, 2019  |  The sun was shining so we took a few pictures of the redevelopment progress!

A hole in the wall is needed to extend the beam which will support the extended mall concourse. 

Imagine yourself standing in the new mall concourse, peeking into the gigantic windows at the fun and excitement happening inside WhirlyBall. 

Here's a look at the [soon to be] extension to the mall concourse from the outside. 

This will look very different in a few months. This is looking into [what will be] BistroPlex. You can see the mall walkway in the center and the walls for WhirlyBall on the left side of the photo.

February 28, 2019  |  Bar Louie opened its newly remodeled 6,500-square-foot space on the East side of the shopping center! The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining, cocktail seating and several flat screen TVs, perfect for game day, all in a relaxed environment with an urban feel.

February 6, 2019  |  We met a major construction milestone today when WhirlyBall and BistroPlex by Marcus went vertical! Huge pre-cast concrete slabs are going in. It's cold outside but there's excitement in the air!

December 18, 2018  |  Uncle Julio's opened its newly constructed 9,000 square foot eatery at Brookfield Square!  The first in Wisconsin, Uncle Julio’s has 30+ restaurants in eight states. The restaurant has an open concept kitchen and boasts an outdoor patio, an indoor/outdoor patio, and a patio for private parties.

December 11, 2018  |  Club Champion, the largest premium golf club fitting retailer in the United States, opened its Brookfield Square location! The 3,000 square foot store is the first in Wisconsin. Located on the east side of Brookfield Square next to University Bookstore, the specialty retailer offers golf club fittings for drivers, irons, wedges, putters, and more. Club Champion also offers one of the widest selections of golf clubs, shafts, and grips in the country.

The Brookfield Conference Center is a part of the continued revitalization of the Bluemound Corridor area into a dynamic visitor and entertainment destination. The conference center plans to open in 2020.

September 4, 2018  |  A clean slate. The space is clear and ready for the new construction process to begin. 

On the other side of this wall are the amazing stores and restaurants on the East side of Brookfield Square--Jason's Deli, Blackfinn Ameripub, Naf Naf Grill, The University Bookstore, and soon-to-be Club Champion. This is the future site for Marcus BistroPlex.

BistroPlex by Marcus and Whirlyball will begin construction in September. Uncle Julio’s construction is underway and is scheduled to open this Fall. Outback Steakhouse construction will begin soon with plans to open in early 2019. 

We look forward to re-opening much of the parking areas on the Southeast side of the property prior to November. [insert applause and fireworks here]

June 20, 2018  |  Demolition of the former Sears space is in full swing. Did you know that approximately 85% of the materials are recycled? Metals are separated using a magnet and the concrete is ground up and re-used at the construction site. We love that!

You can keep an eye on the construction process by peeking through the windows located at the South end of the shopping center.

Fun fact: All of the HUGE construction machinery is serviced on a weekly basis to help prevent downtime on the project. 

Looking for a room with a view? These 'rooms' used to be the management offices in the Sears store.

Do you see that big blue thing? That used to be located near the center of the Sears building. How's that for perspective? If you know what that big blue thing is... please let us know on our Facebook page:). We have a prize for you if you do!

You will see (what seems like) miles of construction fencing for the next several months. It's definitely a necessity with a project of this magnitude. But, we're looking forward to the day when it comes down :).

The project generates tons (literally) of concrete block and bricks. Most of these materials are ground up and re-used on the job site. #Awesome

Now, that's a huge pile of rubble. 

It's hard to imagine what this space will look like in a few months. We'll keep you updated on the progress!

April 3, 2018  |  CBL Properties announced the first phase of redevelopment plans for the former Sears building at Brookfield Square in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The redevelopment will deliver new dining and entertainment options, including new-to-market entertainment concept, WhirlyBall, and BistroPlex^SM from Marcus Theatres®, which combines dining and movie-going in every auditorium.  Construction on the project is set to begin in early April.  Planning is underway for additional phases of the redevelopment, which will include new dining options and other non-retail uses.
